Ocean Waves
Ocean Waves is a series of small-scale acrylic paintings, each inspired by the traditional Japanese art of Nihonga, with a particular focus on the luminous beauty of Kinpaku (gold leaf).
The conceptual foundation of Ocean Waves lies in the tension between movement and stillness—specifically, the interplay between the dynamic, multidimensional energy of ocean waves and the restrained, two-dimensional flatness of the gold leaf.
The collection is ongoing, with the current pieces representing the beginning of a broader exploration.
